Escrow Balances
Updated: 6/29/26
Escrow money is earned through service at either the County Clean-up event in April or the Alumni softball tournament clean-up event in August. The troop is paid for both of these service projects and 100% of the proceeds are divided amongst the scouts that help with the event. This is typically calculated based on hours contributed. The scouts’ escrow balances are held by the troop and can be used toward any “scouting” item(s) the scout wants or needs. Escrow can be applied toward new uniform pieces and/or gear like a backpack, hiking shoes, tent or anything else used in the outdoors. This is a reimbursement process, so after the item is purchased the scout presents a copy of the receipt to Kevin Meyer or Ted Winner (Troop Treasurer) and the scout/parent will receive a check for either the amount of the item or the balance of their escrow account (whichever is less).
